A very relaxed and casual Kevin Sharp entertained the Anderson Farmers Market crowd on Saturday morning (6/27).   In spite of the heat, Kevin and two of his band members performed for about an hour, joking with the audience and clearly having fun.   The show was a benefit for Children’s Hospital Medical Center.

As many as 3000 homes are still without power as of 9am this morning (6/26), many of them in the Turpin Hills neighbhorhood, and homes around Royal Green and Hunley.  The outages are scattered - 50 here, 10 more over there - so it will take some time to get electric service restored.

Beechmont is now reopened after a bomb scare in Mt. Washington.Was it a real bomb? It may be a while before we know. The manager of the Mantara Apartments at 2342 Beechmont reported finding a homemade bomb outside the building. He put the device in a “safe box” and called police.Resident are now being allowed back into the building.We’ll update when Beechmont is reopened.
